Primary Duties

The College of Nursing Rural Recruiter is responsible for developing and implementing recruitment strategies aimed at attracting students from rural areas to the nursing program. This position does include extensive travel during peak recruitment season. The Rural Recruiter is expected to build relationships with high schools, community organizations, community colleges, state colleges, and healthcare facilities to promote nursing education and the college in rural areas. Additionally, the Rural Recruiter develops recruitment events and programming for prospective students across all rural College of Nursing (CON) divisions (Kearney, Norfolk & Scottsbluff).

  • Well organized and efficient in time management.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and external constituents.
  • Demonstrate excellent oral/written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be self-directed, exercise strong independent judgement, and function with minimal supervision,
  • Demonstrate management and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively in teams.
  • Autonomous in initiating desired work product.
  • Ability to articulate ideas and communicate with a variety of community members and project members.
  • Ability to develop and monitor widely varying details of technology related programs.
  • Must maintain and respect confidentiality of information.
  • Interpersonal skills that support an environment of respect, transparency, and sense of belonging
  • Support efforts to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Working knowledge of applicable university policies and procedures and CON policies and procedures in student services settings. Must possess a Nebraska Driver’s License and have appropriate credentials for operating a State vehicle

Compensation Details

$41,200 - $57,700/annual salary
