Primary Duties

1. Plans, implements, and monitors mobile dental unit operations to ensure success of the program. 

2. Oversees the process for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating operations of the mobile dental unit. 

3. Is the main point of contact for facilities and patients interested in utilizing mobile dental services - coordinates the schedule with various facilities within in MHC's service area and ensures required paperwork is complete prior to mobile dental unit arriving onsite. 

4. Collects and post payments in the patient management system. Reviews balances and closes daily walk-outs for accurate claim submissions and account balances in regard to the mobile dental unit. 

5. Monitors Dentrix reports for mobile dental unit.

6. Provides case management services for patients/guardians to help gain access and understanding of dental care. 

7. Coordinates all dental activitites related to infection prevention and control, including implementation and maintenance of the sterilization process to meet compliance standards. 

8. Assists with annual and quarterly dental infection control logs; develops and plans processes based on risk assessment results to reduce risks that may pose threats to patients and the community. 

9. Works with the Infection Prevention and Control Officer, the Safety Committee and the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Committee as needed to review, develop, and plan dental activities based on risk assessment results, giving priority to threats that pose the greatest threat to patients and the community. 

10. Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and results. 

11. Maintains clinc flow via room turn-around which includes sterilization, stocking, and cleaning

12. Provides assistance, support, and relief to other dental team members with clincal, administrative, clerical, or business duties. 

13. Assists in maintaining an efficient, safe, secure, orderly, and aseptic environment of care for all patients and employees. 

14. Performs other duties as assigned. 

Duties 1 through 13 are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed at the appropriate level. All other job duties are secondary functions.

1. Ability to efficiently carry out Midtown Health's Center mission statement and comply with its policies and procedures. 

2. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, co-workers, and the public and to be able to demonstrate cultural awareness and sensitivity. 

3. Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance to HIPAA regulations. 

4. Ability to comply with all occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued under the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA)

5. Ability to utilize critical thinking and problem solving skills to address clinic's needs. 

6. Ability to interpret oral and written instructions and do appropriate follow-up.

7. Ability to work independently and as a team member.

8. Must have exceptional time management and organzational skills.

9. Ability to constructively participate in quality improvement efforts.

10. Ability to actively participate in marketing and outreach activities when requested and emergency response events when required. 

11. Bilingual (English/Spanish) verbal written skills highly desired.
