The Application Systems Analyst’s role is to assist in the administration of enterprise applications; help implement efficient information systems and operational processes in support of core organizational functions; validate and test essential application availability and performance; and manage technology projects that facilitate the achievement of business outcomes and improve business efficiencies and processes.
Application Systems Analysts apply proven communication, analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, report and resolve application and operations issues ensuring and maximizing the benefit of enterprise software and investments; collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for improvement, define system and project requirements and specifications; design, develop, implement, document, analyze, test, and modify computer systems, programs, or applications including, but not limited to, Northeast’s ERP system (Ellucian Banner), CRM systems (Ellucian CRMs, Salesforce), LMS (Canvas), websites, user applications, automation systems, integration platforms, portals (Ellucian Experience, SharePoint), and database systems (Oracle, SQL Server).
Other duties include:
1. Work with all Technology Services teams and vendors to ensure the development and production systems and associated processes are up and running at the appropriate times to meet service level agreements and operational requirements.
2. Assume responsibility for delivery and implementation of completed work while working collaboratively with team members, project managers, and end users.
3. Provide backup administrative support to other Technology Services teammates and the applications for which we are responsible. Provide training and knowledge transfer to peers and others within Technology Services.
4. Develop strong working relationships with vendors and third-party service providers. Engage vendors as necessary and serve as a primary point of contact for vendor technical support.
5. Follow Technology Services principles, best practices, and adopted industry standards and frameworks such as ITIL.
6. Participate in and successfully complete all college-required training, including, but not limited to, security, discrimination/harassment, and code of conduct.
7. May be required to provide 24/7 system support, carry a mobile communications device with a data plan, and perform duties from remote locations such as home and during business travel.
8. Perform other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.
