Primary Duties

Wayne State College is seeking a Project Coordinator-Admissions.

The Project Coordinator-Admissions is responsible for interpreting, evaluating, and posting of external transfer credit to the student record with a high attention to detail. The position will require the individual to acquire and maintain a strong knowledge of the Admission processes, workflows, and procedures, in cooperation with academic schools and the Office of Records & Registration. Additionally, the position requires the ability to work within a variety of technical systems used to facilitate the work, specifically PeopleSoft Student Information System, and Slate CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool, Transfer Equivalency System, and/or Transferology. Some advising of transfer credit may be required using email, phone, face-to-face, and virtual means.

Nature of Work: 

Performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the day to day operations of a function, program, and/or department – this is not a secretarial position. Assists in program planning and development; interprets, monitors, and analyzes information regarding operating policies and procedures; administers budgets; and coordinates academic and/or staff personnel matters. Resolves problems that have a significant impact on the overall goals of the department.

Examples of Work Performed: 

1. Contribute to overall transfer recruitment goals.
2. Be knowledgeable of transfer admissions funnel, enrollment trends, and participate in recruitment team meetings and training.
3. Plan, coordinate, and assist with transfer recruitment programs and events on campus and at area community colleges. This includes leading individual student appointments, as well as presenting information during large visit and registration programs for transfer students.
4. Communicate and follow up with prospective students by email, phone, face to face, and virtual means. Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner. Use Slate to proactively communicate to students regarding admissions steps and time sensitive reminders.
5. Manage transfer student registration appointments and assist with transfer student registration programs.
6. Assist in managing the Transfer Student Ambassador program and leading student workers.
7. Using PeopleSoft and Slate systems to evaluate transcripts, and generate tentative credit evaluations using TES and/or Transferology.
8. Respond to staff, faculty, and student inquiries regarding transfer credit.
9. Assist with updating and maintaining transfer credit database.
10. Assist with maintenance of institutional articulation agreements.
11. Assist with other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Required Qualifications: 

Associate Degree or work related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 

1. Advanced keyboarding skills; high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

2. Demonstrated ability to work well among diverse coworkers in a fast-paced environment.
3. The ability to manage and organize complex information; ability to use analysis and critical thinking skills to solve problems.
4. Good written and verbal communication skills.
5. Demonstrated ability to work with confidential information.
6. Excel and Microsoft Word experience.
7. Demonstrated ability to interact with the public in an effective manner with sensitive information.
8. Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
9. Minimum of two years of experience in a process driven environment.
10. Experience working with customer relations management (CRM) tools, such as Slate.
11. Experience working within student database systems, such as PeopleSoft.
12. Experience handling the routing of information through complex workflows.


Compensation Details

Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive and comprehensive fringe benefit package. Annual Salary range is $38,277.00--$47,846.00.

HEALTH AND DENTAL

Coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska with two options: a Preferred Provider Plan (PPO) with a $650 deductible

or a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a $3,800 deductible.

• Preferred Provider (PPO) = $650.00 deductible, co-insurance 80/20, out of pocket maximum is $4,600. Co-pays are

$35 for primary physician, $55 for specialty physician or urgent care, $85 for ER visits. This plan includes a prescription

discount.

• High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) = $3,800.00 deductible, co-insurance 90/10, out of pocket maximum is $4,350.

Health Reimbursement Account funded by WSC for out of pocket expenses.

• Dental Plan includes two oral exams/cleanings each calendar year with no deductible. Any restorative or maintenance

services cost a $25 deductible per year.

VISION

Coverage through Ameritas-VSP; $20 deductible for an annual exam; coverage includes specified maximums for lenses and

frames and a discount on contacts.

LIFE INSURANCE

All full time employees receive a term life plan with a death benefit of $30,000. Optional supplemental coverage is available.

RETIREMENT

Voluntary contributions are available for full time employees. Once employees meet the minimum age requirements,

employees will contribute 6% of gross salary on a pre-tax basis and WSC contributes 8%. Employees are fully vested from the

first date of contributions. Employees may contribute up to what law allows each year.

PAID LEAVE PROGRAMS

Full time employees receive sick leave, vacation leave, 6 days of bereavement leave, and 13 paid holidays.
