Primary Duties

We are currently seeking a Clinic Nurse (RN, LPN, or MA) for our Norfolk OrthoNebraska clinic who strives to provide an exceptional experience for our patients. The Clinic Nurse (RN, LPN, or MA) will work closely with OrthoNebraska Clinic’s Physicians and Physician Assistants. The Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) requires all healthcare workers, as well as individuals who interact with healthcare workers in a work setting, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment unless a medical or religious exemption is approved. At this time, fully vaccinated means that an individual is at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment. As a condition of employment, newly hired team members will be required to provide proof of their COVID-19 vaccination or apply for a medical or religious exemption.

What you would do in this role:

  • Assists the physician or provider with all examinations and procedures.
  • Ensures patient information is available for the Physician prior to start of clinic.
  • Retrieves messages and responds to calls from patients, pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes and other medical offices by use of telephone and computer in a timely manner as delegated by licensed health care provider.
  • Collects subjective and objective data and contributes to the assessment of the patient and documents appropriately in the patient medical record.
  • Makes accurate and timely observations and documents changes in the patient’s condition in the patient medical record.
  • Explains surgeries, tests and preparation as needed for adequate patient education.
  • Schedules inpatient surgeries, outpatient tests, surgeries and procedures at hospitals/testing facilities by telephone in a timely manner.
  • Addresses patient calls or routes them to the appropriate clinical staff daily.
  • Monitors inventory of supplies and medication.

 

Position Requirements:

 Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • RN, LPN or MA License in the Nebraska or applicable compact state required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare setting, strongly encouraged.
  • BLS required

 Experience:

 

·         1+ Years of RN/LPN/MA (Registered Nurse/ Licensed Practical Nurse/Medical Assistant) Experience Preferred

 Physical:

·         This position is classified as Medium Work in the Dictionary of Occupational Titles, requiring the exertion of 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.  Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
