Basic Job Functions:

 

Nucor Steel – Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lab Technician III - Chemistry Lab.  The Lab Technician III - Chemistry Lab plays a critical role in supporting Melt Shop operations by ensuring the integrity of testing, performing timely and accurate chemical analyses of steel samples, evaluating internal billet quality through macro-etch sampling, and maintaining testing equipment.  The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, testing steel and slab samples for the EAF, LMF, VTD, and Caster while maintaining the Chemistry Lab and equipment.  Other tasks include preparing and evaluating macro-etch billet samples.  Candidates must be able to work rotating shifts and scheduled/unscheduled overtime, including nights, weekends, and holidays.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor Steel Nebraska will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous lab/testing experience.
  • Previous manufacturing and computer systems experience
