Primary Duties

The Early Head Start Coordinator is responsible for understanding and monitoring developmentally appropriate practices for children birth through age three and family engagement of the Early Childhood Programs, Education Partners. Responsible for continuous recruitment of children. Documenting all action taken pertaining to outreach and continuous recruiting, ensuring the classroom are always fully enrolled. Accurately enter data into ChildPlus record keeping system. Utilize the Family Partnership Agreement process to support and engage families. Facilitate parent curriculum and other engagement activities. Maintain a Parent Corner and provide parent resources, as needed. Maintain a system of tracking staff performance on a regular basis. Facilitate a process to help staff develop individual plans to improve their environments, teaching practices to support young children’s growth and development and overall program quality. Review and evaluate lesson plans, family goals, observations, education calendars, documentation of home visits, Parent Teacher conferences, and other education records prepared by Teachers. Occasional kneeling, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Collaborate with community resources on behalf of the program, all enrolled children, and their families. Must have knowledge of and support the Agency’s mission, vision, code of ethics and strategic plan for helping people, improving lives in Northeast Nebraska. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies. 


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education or a bachelor’s or advanced degree and course work equivalent to a major relating to Early Childhood Education with early education teaching experience. A minimum of one-year experience in supervision, preschool or human service.  


Compensation Details

The starting wage is $20.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage increases with education and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance.
