Primary Duties

1. Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room; provides examination gowns and drapes; helps patients to position themselves for the examination and/or treatment; arranges examining room instuments, supplies and equipment. 

2. Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviews and/or records medical history; takes vital signs; and confirms the purpose of the visit or treatment. 

3. Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; and other assigned clinical duties. 

4. Documents delivery of health care and nursing process in accordance with the clinic's policies and procedures in a timely, accurate, and consistent manner.

5. Administers all medications and vaccines accurately and documents in electronic health records. 

6. Assists in maintaining an efficient, safe, secure, orderly, and aseptic environment of care for all patients and employees. 

7. Initiates referrals to other sources of health care as necessary.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Duties 1 though 7 are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed in this job. All other job duties are secondary functions.
