Primary Duties
The Adult Education Specialist will be responsible for coordinating and establishing IET opportunities for adult education students along with providing direct support to the Family Literacy and Workplace Literacy programs. This will be accomplished by developing additional partnerships within the college and local employers, adhering to state and federal guidelines, training and supervision of IET, Family Literacy, and Workplace Literacy instructors, assisting the Adult Education South Sioux City intake staff, meeting bi-weekly with Norfolk intake staff, and collaborating with the Adult Education Director bi-weekly. They will be responsible for recruiting, registering, scheduling, completing assessments, tracking student attendance hours, ensuring IET is following federal guidelines, distance opportunities, and coordinating follow up activities. This position will also assist with grant development, implementation and oversight.
Additional duties include lead teacher for IET’s programming, supervising IET, Family Literacy, and Workplace Literacy staff, and curriculum development for all IET efforts. This position will assist with testing and registration, support the department with grant development, implementation, and reporting and meet bi-weekly with Adult Education Director.

Compensation Details
This position is in Salary Grade CS1, with a salary range of $16.71 to $20.86 per hour. The successful candidate’s salary will be calculated based on education and experience within the grade range.
