Summary:
The Foundation Director is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining a comprehensive development/fundraising program that maximizes philanthropic support for the hospital and the Foundation’s mission and goals. This position collaborates with executive leadership, service line directors and managers, physicians, employees and other stakeholders to ensure that fundraising and disbursement of funds are aligned and support the strategic goals, mission and vision of the organization. The Foundation Director formulates, recommends, and implements methods in which will most effectively raise support for operational, capital, and programmatic, goals through event and gift cultivation sources. This position directs and coordinates initiatives concerned with fundraising, special events, donor relations, finance and budget, planned giving, and other Foundation activities that bring the community together to strengthen, support, and enhance the FRHS system. The Foundation Director works closely with the Foundation Board to achieve established goals and advance relationship-building activities.
The functions of the Foundation Director include: financial management of the department including budget development and ongoing evaluation; management of human resources; responsibilities and duties as a member of a multi-disciplinary team; leadership as a mentor for staff members; strategic planning; day to day operations; procurement and maintenance of supplies and equipment, including purchasing capital equipment; contract maintenance; maintaining and developing hospital policies and procedures; identifying and implementing performance improvement initiatives and evaluation effectiveness; maintain departmental regulatory compliance; developing and implementing a patient/customer focused staffing plan.
The Foundation Director participates in, or delegates appropriate participation in all performance improvement teams, medical staff committees and work teams.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Job Requirements:

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Master’s Degree preferred.
EDUCATION FIELD OF STUDY:
- Healthcare preferred.
- Business Management preferred.
- Nonprofit Management preferred.
- Communications or related field preferred.
Previous Experience Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
- 5 years previous management experience/organization required.
- Previous healthcare experience preferred.
- 5 years of previous experience in field preferred.
SKILLS:
- Language Skills – Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language. Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills required.
- Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders required.
- Ability to lead teams from a variety of backgrounds and professions required.
- Ability to make effective presentations to various stakeholders including physicians, executive team, governance, and external constituents required.
- Exceptional project management and organization skills with the ability to balance multiple projects required.
- Ability to apply knowledge of patient rights, safety rights, safety practices, infection control principles, and risk management issues required.
- Ability to maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality and professionalism required.
Other Certifications/Requirements:
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in the state of legal residence required.
