Help shape the future today as a member of our caring team of Early Childhood Educators!  NENCAP is looking for EARLY CHILDHOOD TEACHERS to guide and care for children birth through age 3 in our EARLY HEAD START Program at the Siouxland Family Center in Dakota City. 40 hours per week M-F.  The Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) starting wage is $12.75 per hour, plus benefits.  Wage increasing with education and experience. May be subject to layoff periods. JOB SUMMARY: Early Head Start (EHS) Teachers are responsible for understanding, planning, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children birth through age three.  Promote nurturing and bonding relationships. Encourage self-help skills and provide consistent routines. Work with families to identify goals, strengths, needs and support them in a process which leads them toward self-sufficiency. Assist children in establishing good habits of personal hygiene; change diapers so children are comfortable. Develop weekly lesson plans and send to supervisor. Conduct screenings within 45 days of enrollments. Communicate with parents on a regular basis. Complete required educational home visits with Parent/Teacher conferences for each child. Attend and participate in children’s MDT and IFSP meetings. Enter documentation for each child and manage child data/reports through the on-line assessment system. Maintain a clean organized room. Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Compensation Details

WAGE & BENEFITS:  The CDA starting wage is $12.75 per hour, plus benefits. Wage increasing with education and experience.
