Primary Duties
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Nucor Steel Nebraska is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Accounting Coop. The role of the Accounting Coop includes, but is not limited to, general ledger accounting, Corporate, Tax and Divisional reporting, assisting in the internal and external audit processes, maintaining and continuously improving internal controls, and working closely with all departments to analyze and evaluate departmental costs and drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the business. This position will also be involved in cross training efforts in the finance department. Candidates must be willing to work overtime as necessary and required during the month-end close process. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· High School Diploma or equivalent
· Currently enrolled (fifth semester and beyond) in a Bachelor’s Degree Program studying in the field of Accounting or Finance
- Intermediate proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
PREFERENCES:
· Currently studying in the field of Accounting
Compensation Details
Compensation is per hour, based on skills, knowledge and experience AND based on total hours worked per week.
