Primary Duties
The primary function of the Purchasing Coordinator is to create and execute our raw material purchasing strategy in order to maximize results. This also includes the creating and tracking of necessary metrics. Responsibilities include ordering steel and other raw materials, managing the logistics of the raw material, working closely with suppliers to optimize the flow of goods, communicating with internal departments regarding material shortages, substitutions, and aged inventory, negotiating contracts, and supporting other purchasing functions as needed.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Minimum Requirements:
· High School Diploma
Preferences:
· Experience with SAP computer software
· Microsoft Office experience
· Prior inventory management experience
· Degree in business management or related field
Compensation Details
Compensation will be discussed upon hire and based upon qualifications.
