Job Summary: The Behavioral Health Unit Manager is a registered professional nurse under the supervision and direction of the department director. The manager works cohesively with the department director and collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary health care team to ensure that our mission to Serve Christ by providing all people with exemplary medical service in an environment of love and care is fulfilled. The manager will uphold our standards of behavior and will serve as a clinical resource and a professional role model for staff. The manager will also promote a cohesive structured unit that is Hard Wired for Excellence.
Patient care responsibilities include maintaining the quality, safety, satisfaction and efficiency of patient care in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures as well as regulatory compliance. The manager will incorporate current Behavioral Health Unit’s theory and practice standards in the development and implementation of unit policies, procedures, and patient care standards. This will involve directing, planning, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating patient care provided in the Behavioral Health Unit’s Services unit. The manager is responsible for coordinating and facilitating the unit quality performance improvement plan.
The manager is responsible for the day to day unit level operations including financial oversight of resources and supplies. The manager will respond to the needs of the unit by serving as a clinical resource.
Job Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Previous clinical experience required.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license or temporary permit from the State of Nebraska required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) obtained within one full month from date of hire required.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) obtained within six full months from date of hire required.
Previous clinical experience required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language required.
Psychiatric related experience preferred.
