Seeking Director of Worship and Liturgical Music

Sacred Heart Parish is a vibrant Catholic community of 2,000 families located in Norfolk, Nebraska with a Pre-K through 12th grade school apostolate.   We are seeking qualified candidates for the Director of Worship and Liturgical Music Coordination.  The Director of Worship will maintain church supplies and equipment, schedule liturgical ministers, and provide day to day support for liturgies.  Music coordination responsibilities include serving as a parish musician, choir director, and oversight of parish music needs could be filled as a separate part time position.   The successful candidate(s) is required to uphold the standards of the Catholic Church in his/her day to day work and personal life. Personal qualities should include a balance of enthusiasm, collaboration, and attention to detail. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

?       Knowledge and practice of Catholic doctrine and theology with ability to represent Sacred Heart parish in a manner consistent with the discipline and teachings of the Catholic Church.

?       Demonstrated familiarity in sound Roman Catholic liturgical and musical practices and use of General Instruction of the Roman Missal

?       Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher) and working knowledge of database software, Google, and web applications.

?       Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

?       High level of organizational skill and attention to detail

?       Flexibility, creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

?       Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time

?       Ability to lift and move materials and equipment

?       Must possess a proven ability to work effectively with diverse individuals of all ages, ethnic, racial, and religious backgrounds of the community.

?       Competency to speak, understand, and translate Spanish is desired



Compensation Details

Salary and hours will be determined by the skillset and experience of the candidate.   The duties related to liturgical music may be filled in a separate part time position.
