Primary Duties

The Powersports Service Writer/Advisor is the point of contact for the customers in the service department. They function as a liaison between the customer and technician for service jobs. They must be knowledgeable on the products to properly document the repairs needed. They need to have strong analytical and customer service skills. A good Service Writer/Advisor adds value by monitoring customers service intervals to set future appointments - adding service profitability while also prioritizing customer care. 

 Service Writer/Advisor Requirements:

  • High school education or equivalent ,1-3 years of parts experience in Power Sports, Auto, or Marine industry is a plus -
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Attention to detail -
  • Basic computer skills -
  • Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record
  • Prior management experience
  • Team Leading/Building experience
  • Service Technician background
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and be extremely organized

Service Writer Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise service technicians.
  • Assist Service Managers when needed
  • Overseeing daily service operations, scheduling, and distribution of work for technicians.
  • Scheduling routine service and warranty work.
  • Placing orders with Parts Department for work to be completed.
  • Manage and ensure accuracy of unit and parts inventories.
  • Ensure warranty claims are created, submitted and warranty payments received on a timely basis.
  • Ensure products are meticulously detailed and unit deliveries are conducted in a friendly and professional manner as scheduled.
  • Support a strong commitment to world class customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.

Other Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintains clean personal appearance
  • Maintains clean workstation
  • Attends training seminars as needed
  • Ensures all safety policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Ability to attract and retain new business opportunities and increase the service department profitability through growing the business, controlling expenses, and assuring customer satisfaction.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Experience:

  • Powersports: 1 year (Required)
  • Marine: 1 year (Required)
  • Service Writer and/or Service Advisor: 1 year (Required)
  • Management: 1 year (Required)
