Midtown Health Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center serving Northeast Nebraska with focus on improving access to complete care for the whole family is looking for an organized and self-driven individual with experience in dental services to immediately fill a Dental Program Coordinator position for our Mobile Dental Unity service.

Supervisory experience is preferred as this position will coordinate the work of Dental Assistants and dental supporting staff working on Midtown Health Services Mobile Dental Unit (MOBI).

Proficiency in English and Spanish is desirable and wage differential will be offered to successful bilingual candidate. 

General Summary

The Dental Program Coordinator provides oversight, monitoring, and coordination of daily dental operations and staffing for the mobile dental clinic ensuring implementation and compliance with all MHC policies and procedures. The position will plan, implement, and monitor mobile operations to ensure success of the mobile dental clinic program with guidance and support from the Dental Clinic Coordinator. The Dental Program Coordinator is the first point of contact for facilities and patients utilizing or wishing to coordinate utilization of Midtown’s mobile dental services. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1.    Provides administrative oversight to the Mobile Dental Clinic.

a.    Assumes responsibility for the performance of the Mobile Dental Clinic on a day-to-day basis.

b.    Ensures that the Mobile Dental Clinic has the day-to-day functional necessities needed to operate. 

c.    Assumes responsibility for OSHA and HIPPA compliance and communicates requirements to on-board staff.

d.    Oversees and implements the system for reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating operations of the Mobile Dental Clinic as directed by the Dental Clinic Manager.

e.    Assumes responsibility of coordinating clinic schedule with various facilities within the service area and coordinating movement of the unit to ensure proper location set-up and storage of the mobile unit. 

f.    Ensures consents for treatment and other pertinent paperwork is dispersed and received back prior to arriving at specific locations. 

2.    Provides financial services for the Mobile Dental Clinic.

a.    Maintains cash receipt journals, cash disbursement journals, general ledger, customer information, and patient management system.

b.    Reviews, balances, and closes daily walk-outs to ensure accurate claim submissions and account balances.

c.    Maintains cash receipt journals, cash disbursement journals, general ledger, customer information, and patient management system. 

d.    Monitors Dentrix Reports for Mobile Dental Clinic.

3.    Provides case management services for patients/guardians to help patients gain access and understanding of needed dental care. 

a.    Assists in the development, implementation, and revision of individual treatment plans.

b.    Identifies patients’ insurance coverage or other sources for payment of services or application of sliding fee schedules. 

c.    Educates patients/families/caregivers about treatment processes and ensures guardian of minor or incapacitated adults the required consent forms in order to proceed with treatment if so chooses. 

4.    Other duties as assigned.

All duties listed in 1-3 are designated as ADA Essential Functions and must be performed at the appropriate level. All other job duties are secondary functions.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Qualifications: Training and Education 

    Associate’s degree in Administrative Assistant or Office Management preferred. 

    High School Diploma required.

Qualifications: Experience 

    Two years of supervisory experience preferred.

    Minimum of two years prior experience in dental field required.

Qualifications: Licensure/Certification

    Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license and provide proof of personal driver’s insurance and the ability to utilize own transportation for work purposes.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises dental assistants and dental support staff working on the Dental Mobile Unit.
