Have you ever wanted to be a “Lunch Lady”? Well, here’s your chance! NENCAP is looking for someone special to help serve up nutritious food in our Early Childhood Program. Ideal position for individuals who love to work in the kitchen and help young children learn and grow. Day hours only, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, M-F at the Siouxland Family Center in Dakota City. No weekends and paid holidays! Fair pay with great benefit package. Come join our team as a Food Service Coordinator and see what we’ve got cooking.  The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for developing and ensuring staff implement nutritional services that conform to the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) and Food and Safety Sanitation Requirements. Ensure nutritious meals are served at scheduled times in accordance to CACFP.  Complete and post required nutrition reports in a timely manner including attendance, CACFP point of service meal counts, temperature logs, and Daily Production Reports. Ensure that food is labeled and stored following the Food and Safety Sanitation requirements. Share updated nutrition information with staff. Abide by the Program/State Kitchen Inspection Reports. Perform kitchen cleaning duties. Monitor the program’s nutrition paperwork including menus/menu changes, daily production records, kitchen inspections and other documents to ensure compliance with CACFP. Maintain a tracking system of job performance for persons supervised. Address performance issues and administer corrective action according to policy procedures. Work in collaboration with the supervisor and HR Director regarding staff issues. Prepare and conduct introductory and annual performance evaluations for relevant staff. Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and lifting, up to 50 pounds. Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

High School Graduate or GED required.  Education and experience in food service and supervision preferred.

 


Compensation Details

The wage is $16.00 per hour plus benefits. Negotiable depending on experience and skills.
