Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel – Nebraska (NSNE) is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Finance Supervisor. Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to; coordination, oversight and execution of Nucor’s general accounting, financial reporting, Accounts Payable, and internal control related activities.  This role is responsible for the supervision and growth and development opportunities for the finance department teammates. Must possess the ability to develop an in-depth understanding of the production environment and provide various financial and cost analysis for driving continual improvement across all aspects and departments in the division.  Have a commitment to safety, quality, profitability (including analysis), and continuous improvement.  Provide technical GAAP guidance, maintain and continuously improve the internal control structure.  Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. (Nucor will not sponsor the need for a visa now or in the future).

 

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business (Accounting emphasis) or related field
  • 3+ years experience in the Accounting related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, CMA, or MBA
  • Leadership or Supervisory experience
  • Manufacturing or Cost Accounting Experience
  • Advanced MS Excel user who demonstrates ability to engage in data driven decision making
