Primary Duties

Under direction and supervision of the Customer Service Supervisor, helps shelve and organize materials and keep the facilities prepared for use by the public.

-Shelves materials in their proper locations, including straightening shelves, and shelf-reading areas as needed;

-Checks shelves for overdue or missing items;

-Weeds library materials from new shelves and re-shelves them as appropriate;

-Assists in keeping the library neat and ready for use by the public;

-Has a working knowledge of the collections and services of the library and can direct patrons to appropriate locations or staff members;

-Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Requires an understanding of libraries and how they generally operate, the ability to organize materials alphabetically and by Dewey Decimal number, strong attention to detail, ability to push and pull carts of library materials, effective communication skills, and the ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with employees and the public.


Compensation Details

12 hours a week at $11.88/hour
