Primary Duties
This position will be located in our Norfolk Local Office. Your duties would include use of critical thinking skills to provide paraprofessional/clerical support for casework staff. Your duties will include, but not be limited to, computer system inquiry and input, assisting with filing and maintenance of client records, preparing and sending appointment and related letters, assisting casework staff with researching specific situations/circumstances, processing incoming and outgoing mail, handling records transfer, ordering office supplies, performing basic maintenance of office equipment (i.e., replacement of toner, paper, etc.), and providing receptionist coverage. You will also arrange for and/or provide client transportation. In addition, you will be included in special projects according to business need.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
The position requires good organizational skills. Basic computer skills are needed. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, and Excel is preferred, General office practices and procedures; computer office applications, systems, and programs; maintain records and files; scanning/imaging equipment, multi-function copy machines, multi-line telephones and other office equipment; perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication; English grammar and usage; understand human services practices and procedures; accommodate new methods; maintain confidentiality; sharp attention to detail; proofreading skills; accurate keyboarding skills; and predictable and reliable attendance.
