Primary Duties
Job Duties
? Inspection and monitoring of the physical and mental health of all animals kenneled at the ASNN
? Feed, walk, exercise and bathe the animals as needed in our care
? Daily cleaning of dog and cat kennels
? Perform health exams to include blood draws, physical examinations, vaccine administration and behavioral evaluations of all animals
? Perform diagnostic health screenings such as fecal exams, skin scrapings and cultures
? Administer treatments for sick or injured animals as directed by the Shelter Manager or Veterinarian
? Schedule vet appointments for surgeries, special medical issues, and rechecks
? Complete all required paperwork to include intake, medical treatment and surgery forms
? Complete adoptions in their entirety, to include paperwork, computer entry and pre/post adoption counseling
? Maintain the facility, as a whole, by performing tasks including but not limited to, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, taking out trash and checking equipment and supplies
? Train and guide volunteers on proper cleaning of dog and cat kennels, laundry, dishes and other house cleaning duties
? Use social media when necessary, as directed by the Shelter Manager
? Other duties deemed necessary by the Shelter Manager
? The Animal Care Attendant will report directly to the Shelter Manager

? Demonstrated ability to organize and establish goals
? Superior problem-solving skills paired with excellent written and oral communication skills
? Must meet physical requirements including being able to bend, stoop, reach and lift from the ground up, lift up to 55 pounds without assistance, stand for long periods of time and go up and down stairs
? At least 1 year experience in veterinary field preferred
? Background screening, car ownership and valid driver's license required
Compensation Details
$10/hour 34-36 hours per week
