Primary Duties

Nature of Work:

To perform routine custodial work in cleaning and performing related tasks. Work is performed in accordance with established procedures and sanitary standards, which may vary depending upon location. Also perform preventive/routine maintenance, minor repairs and grounds keeping tasks.

Examples of Work Performed:

Primary Duties
1. Perform routine custodial work which includes cleaning and maintaining assigned areas
a. Vacuum all carpeted areas
b. Sweep and mop hard surface floors
c. Clean, sanitize, and re-stock restrooms on a daily basis
d. Dust, high and low
e. Collect and empty all trash from assigned areas and dispose of trash in central receptacle
2. Work safely and use appropriate precautionary methods involved in cleaning, maintenance, and repair activities
3. Maintain custodial equipment on a daily basis

Secondary Duties
1. Perform other cleaning duties unique to assigned areas such as shampooing carpeted areas, stripping, scrubbing and waxing floors, cleaning walls, woodwork, baseboards, windows, blinds, and furniture
2. Perform minor and routine maintenance to assigned areas, such as changing light bulbs, replacing light covers, and repairing blinds
3. Turn in work orders for any maintenance problems in order for repairs to be made immediately
4. Move furniture and equipment as directed
5. Operate equipment such as vacuums, buffers, extractors, and scrubbers
6. Perform preventative/routine maintenance and grounds-keeping tasks as needed
7. Perform emergency and special setup or cleanup functions
8. Lock and unlock building doors, meeting rooms, and classrooms
9. Assist with snow removal from entrance areas and steps
10. Other duties as assigned


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Any level of education, experience or training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities needed to perform the assigned work.

Ability to work in extreme hot or cold; bend, crouch and climb; assist in safe lifting in excess of 75 pounds; and, sufficient strength to perform assigned tasks.


Compensation Details

Competitive, commensurate with qualifications & experience. Attractive & comprehensive fringe benefit package. Minimum annual salary is $33,125.

HEALTH AND DENTAL

Coverage through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Nebraska with two options: a Preferred Provider Plan (PPO) with a $650 deductible

or a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with a $3,800 deductible.

• Preferred Provider (PPO) = $650.00 deductible, co-insurance 80/20, out of pocket maximum is $4,600. Co-pays are

$35 for primary physician, $55 for specialty physician or urgent care, $85 for ER visits. This plan includes a prescription

discount.

• High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) = $3,800.00 deductible, co-insurance 90/10, out of pocket maximum is $4,350.

Health Reimbursement Account funded by WSC for out of pocket expenses.

• Dental Plan includes two oral exams/cleanings each calendar year with no deductible. Any restorative or maintenance

services cost a $25 deductible per year.

VISION

Coverage through Ameritas-VSP; $20 deductible for an annual exam; coverage includes specified maximums for lenses and

frames and a discount on contacts.

LIFE INSURANCE

All full time employees receive a term life plan with a death benefit of $30,000. Optional supplemental coverage is available.

RETIREMENT

Voluntary contributions are available for full time employees. Once employees meet the minimum age requirements,

employees will contribute 6% of gross salary on a pre-tax basis and WSC contributes 8%. Employees are fully vested from the

first date of contributions. Employees may contribute up to what law allows each year.

PAID LEAVE PROGRAMS

Full time employees receive sick leave, vacation leave, 6 days of bereavement leave, and 13 paid holidays.
