Northeast Nebraska Community Action Partnership is looking for a HEALTHY FAMILIES ADVOCATE for their Health Services Program in Pender, NE. 40 hours per week M-F. Daily hours scheduled to meet the needs of clients. Hourly wage plus benefits. Bilingual skills a plus.
Responsible to facilitate health education and case management to home visitation clients, coordination of services, program education modules, client advocacy and referral. This will include high risk women and families who are pregnant or parenting to decrease the incidence of child abuse and neglect. Initiate and maintain regular contact with families, primarily in their homes. Establish trusting relationships with families. Provide prenatal and other health education, including bonding and attachment. Assist to strengthen parent-child relationships. Assist parents to improve their skills and optimize the home environment for the child’s well-being and safety. Maintain relations with community agencies and organizations as necessary and provide media outreach, marketing, educational sessions and public speaking. Complete reporting requirements and assist with grants. Attend training sessions as required, this includes Healthy Families America Core Training and Growing Great Kids curriculum training. Maintain confidentiality of all participant/client information and comply with NENCAP confidentiality policy.
Prefer a Bachelor’s Degree in parent education, family support, human services counseling and knowledge of infant and child development, or similar. Prefer experience with outreach, case management and/or public health education. Experience in human services, home visits, or skills in early childhood development or early childhood mental health. Good organizational skills. Basic computer skills in word processing, email and internet. Must meet Agency auto insurance standards.

The hourly wage is $14.75 per hour, plus benefits
